Christie Brinkley is an iconic model and actress who is perhaps best known for being photographed while lounging around the pool or the beach in a bikini. She was “discovered” in 1973 and signed a 20-year-long modeling contract with CoverGirl shortly thereafter. CoverGirl made a wise choice; Christie is one of those people who never seem to age. While makeup artists can do amazing things to a supermodel’s face, Christie’s glowing complexion and trim figure is undoubtedly due to her healthy diet.

Christie Brinkley’s meal plan emphasizes colorful fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. She didn’t always eat so well, however. When she first became a model, Christie Brinkley was a bit more impressionable. Ford modeling agency instructed her to eat nothing but fish and water for an unspecified period of time in order to look more like a skin-and-bones model. While salmon and tuna are indeed healthy foods, they are best consumed as part of a varied diet plan. At least Brinkley did actually eat solid food, unlike supermodel Adriana Lima during her preparations for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

These days, Christie Brinkley sets a good example for her kids by routinely using healthy eating habits. On a typical day, she’ll add some uncooked oatmeal to a bowl and mix it with flax seeds, wheat germ, and yogurt. Christie also adds blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries to her oatmeal. Her typical lunch is a large salad. Christie likes to vary the ingredients she uses in her salad, but it typically features dark green, leafy vegetables, tomatoes, fresh herbs, avocados, lentils, garbanzo beans, and nuts or seeds. Sometimes, Christie also eats some lentil soup on the side.

Christie Brinkley typically makes pasta for dinner because her kids love it, but she swaps out the refined white noodles in favor of whole grain noodles. Sometimes she adds fish to the meal, but she always adds tons of veggies sautéed in garlic and olive oil. Some of her favorite veggies to add include broccoli rabe. If she gets hungry between meals, Christie Brinkley is likely to reach for a Fuji apple with peanut butter, or she might have a bite of organic, vegan chocolate mixed with healthy stuff like Acai berries.

Unlike many celebs, Christie Brinkley has a nicely balanced diet. Although she’s a pescetarian (a vegetarian who eats seafood), Christie gets plenty of protein from the lentils, garbanzo beans, and fish in her diet. She also prefers to select brightly colored fruits and veggies, which is a general rule of thumb to follow for selecting the foods with the highest antioxidant content.

Christie Brinkley’s preferred workout program includes yoga and using a piece of exercise equipment that she endorses. Brinkley endorses the same gym equipment as Chuck Norris. It’s intended to strengthen the muscles. Christie Brinkley also does lunges and squats while walking along the beach. When she wants to change her workout routine around, she often does tennis or goes skiing.
