Brooklyn native Nia Long grew up studying gymnastics, ballet, tap, and acting. So it’s no surprise that she fuels all that activity with a healthy, well-balanced diet. Nia Long bounced right back into shape after giving birth – twice. Just a couple of months after giving birth to baby boy Kez, Long was spotted out and about in L.A. wearing a flattering outfit that showed off her slender figure. Since she hasn’t endorsed any special diet delivery services or fad diets, we’re assuming the actress relied on good, old-fashioned healthy eating.

Nia Long prefers healthy food swaps instead of dieting deprivation. Her weight loss strategies include eating a fat-free bagel with fat-free cream cheese for breakfast, paired with smoked salmon for healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Nia Long also takes supplements to ensure that she gets all her vitamins. She also drinks aloe vera juice along with her breakfast. Aloe vera juice can aid in healthy digestion.

Like Jennifer Aniston, Nia Long is a huge fan of eating a big Cobb salad for lunch. She tops it with tomatoes and roasted chicken. Instead of adding pork bacon, Long prefers adding turkey bacon to her salad. Adding protein to a salad at lunch helps suppress your appetite and keeps you full through the afternoon. If she does get hungry later, Nia usually reaches for some hummus made with roasted garlic.

For dinner, Nia Long often prepares a healthy stir fry made with brown rice, broccoli, shrimp, and low-sodium soy sauce. To indulge her sweet tooth, Nia might eat a healthy apple tart dessert made with apples, whey protein powder, cinnamon, and crushed kasha.

If Nia Long sticks to this diet, she’s maintaining healthy eating habits that will help keep her waistline slim. However, we’d recommend adding some more fruit to this diet for antioxidants. We’d also recommend that instead of stir frying shrimp frequently, Nia should try lean chicken. While shrimp is pretty healthy (it’s a great source of protein and low in saturated fat), it does have a very high amount of cholesterol. A 3-oz. serving of shrimp contains about 55 percent of the daily recommended value of cholesterol.

Nia Long is often spotted in and out of gyms. After giving birth to baby Kez, Nia brought him to Mommy & Me yoga classes. In the past, she’s also worked out with a couple different celebrity physical trainers, both of whom are big fans of circuit training to build core strength.
